From tropical America, adapted to a wide range of conditions.  Has a distinctive 4-angled pod.  They are nitrogen-fixers.  The frothy, sweet pulp surrounding the seeds somewhat resembles vanilla ice cream.  Jumicuil is found in So. Mexico to Costa Rica– has winged rachis leaves and the pod is generally 5—9 inches in length.

Operating Hours

The Nursery is closed during the month of January.  We will reopen on Friday, February6 and resume our normal operating hours.

We are open every Friday & Saturday hours (10 AM to 5 PM).  Appointments can be arranged for other times for purchasing both plants and fruit.

Our produce is available at the Brownsville Farmers Market at Linear Park on Saturday and the South Padre Island Farmers Market on Sundays with Frannie.  In McAllen it is available at the Market at Fireman's Park with Barbara on Saturday mornings.
