An erect, medium-sized tree. The fruit may vary in size but most are spindle-shaped with skin that is golden yellow when ripe. The flesh is soft and pasty with the texture of a hard-boiled egg yolk. The flavor is sweet and somewhat like a sweet potato. (27°F, So. Amer.)
