This fruit has a thick, rich, creamy texture that has a taste reminiscent of egg custard with a hint of pumpkin. While it can be enjoyed out of hand, making the fruit into smoothies or ice cream is our favorite way to enjoy the canistel. The mature fruit will soften in about 1 week after it is harvested.
