While it is true there is not a Fiestival this July, we are doing a celebration of mangos and other tropical fruits. And the other great news - it is going on all month long!!
Every Friday and Saturday in the month of July there will be tropical gardening fun throughout the day. NOTICE: DUE TO THE HEAVY RAINFALL ON JULY 6 WE ARE CANCELLING OUR JULY 7 ACTIVITIES.
The first event is our Tasting and Fruit Evaluation that runs from 10AM to Noon (or until we run out of fruit). The cost is $2 per person.
In the afternoon we will host a culinary presentation at 12:30 which will be followed by a program on growing tropical fruit trees starting at 1:30PM. And at 3:15PM our Orchard Walkabout will begin - SIGN UP for this event as soon as you arrive.
Throughout the day there will be an assortment of tropical fruit related foods including cacao bars and nibbles, juices and ice creams along with our fruits and fruit trees for sale.
And each weekend we will be focusing on a different tropical fruit. And yes on July 6th and 7th we will be celebrating the JakFruit - world's largest tree borne fruit.
Mango season has officially begun here at Rivers End and we are delighted to be harvesting irwin, Cogshall, Torbet, Nam Doc Mai, Bailey's Marvel and other marvelous mangos.
So join us for a day of tropical gardening fun and don't forget your sunscreen, bug spray and comfortable walking shoes.
